No. The Temple is not affiliated with any religion or tradition, and does not ask visitors to adopt any set of beliefs. People of every background and faith are welcome. It exists as a space for reflection and personal growth, and we believe each person should arrive at their own understanding through experience rather than instruction.

They are the reason it exists. A colony of grown cats lives in the garden, and kittens are raised and socialized indoors until they are ready for homes. Everything else here — the quiet, the slow walking, the practice of letting another being decide — grew out of living alongside them.
The garden colony is semi-feral and should never be picked up or followed — watch, sit nearby, and let them come to you. The socialized cats and kittens indoors are a different matter: you are welcome to play with them and hold them, for as long as they are comfortable being held. El will tell you who is who. Staying with us provides the cats with food, access to medical care, vaccinations, and spay and neuter services. There is no separate fund and no middle step — the sanctuary and the household are the same thing, so what you pay for a room is what feeds the colony and raises the kittens.

Absolutely. Some visitors come to stay, some take the Bastet Journey, some support the sanctuary, and some simply enjoy learning about the philosophy. There is no single path through the Temple.
