A Shared Agreement
The True Light Temple is more than a place to stay. It is a shared environment designed to support reflection, restoration, and respectful coexistence with the natural world.
These guidelines are not meant to limit your experience. They preserve the peaceful atmosphere that makes the sanctuary meaningful for every guest, every resident cat, and every living thing that calls this place home.
By entering the sanctuary, you agree to move through it with care, awareness, and consideration.
Everything here has its place: the land, the wildlife, the gardens, the quiet, and the resident cats. As guests, we are temporary participants in an environment that exists first as a sanctuary. Please care for it as thoughtfully as those who arrive after you.
The cats are residents, not attractions. The garden colony is semi-feral and should never be picked up, cornered, or followed. The socialized cats and kittens indoors are a different story — they may well climb into your lap, and you are welcome to play with them or hold them.
The rule for both is the same: the cat decides, and the cat decides when it ends. Hold a kitten for as long as the kitten wants to be held, and put them down the moment they ask. El will tell you who is who.
One of the greatest gifts they offer is teaching us that trust cannot be rushed — it can only be earned.
Life here unfolds at a different pace. Walk slowly. Pause often. Notice your surroundings. Sometimes slowing down changes the entire experience.
Silence is one of the most valuable things we protect. Many guests come seeking relief from constant noise.
Please keep conversations gentle, minimize unnecessary sound, and stay mindful of the peaceful atmosphere shared throughout the sanctuary.
Phones are welcome. Presence is encouraged.
The way we speak shapes the environment we create together. Please communicate with kindness, patience, and respect toward fellow visitors and staff.
Different perspectives are always welcome. Judgment is not. The Temple is built on curiosity rather than certainty.
Everything here is sustained through ongoing stewardship. Leave shared spaces as you found them. Respect gardens and wildlife habitats. Dispose of waste thoughtfully.
Take only photographs and memories. Leave only gratitude.
Every guest has come seeking something similar: a moment of peace, a chance to breathe, and a little more quiet than they left behind. Simple acts of consideration create that for everyone.

Every guideline above is a practice. These are the ordinary arrangements, so nobody has to guess.
We are a home-share sanctuary with a resident feline colony. If you travel with a service animal, please contact us directly before booking so we can talk honestly about whether this property can keep both your animal and ours safe.
